Overwhelmed and Speechless at the Showering of Support and Love

Our family and I were completely overwhelmed and speechless at the outpouring of support and love we felt on Saturday, and continue to feel every day. I know how much my family and I love him, and what an AMAZING man he was, but to see all of those that came because Mike touched them in some way, or because of the connection to the family, which is also a tribute to Mike and what he meant to this family, and to hear throughout the day what everyone had to say about him was absolutely overwhelming. He will be so missed!
We wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of the supporters of Mike, our family, and this website. It seems somewhat trite, but I am at a loss for words at the love and support we feel from every turn. At times I have felt alone, but only for seconds before someone texts me, calls me, or emails me, or I just simply remind myself of all those that have commented or visited or set up fund raisers. You all are what will get us through the day to day without him here. We love all of you and thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!!!

Mike's Services

I will continue to dream of the days that might have been, imagine the adventures we would have had, but will focus on all the positive moments we have shared in the 23 + years we had together. Each of the supporters of this blog were touched in some way by Mike and our family. And now each of you have touched my life in a way that can't be measured by words. The time has come for a final goodbye to the light of my life, my soul mate, Mike. The services will be held this Saturday, March 3rd at 12:00pm at:
Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills
6300 Forest Lawn Drive
Los Angeles, 90068
The Old North Church
A short grave side burial service will follow.

In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting to please donate to the Support4Mike fund or an organization that supports the research of brain cancer in Mike's name.

It's Too Soon to Say Goodbye

It is with a heavy heart to tell you that Mike passed away this morning.  Mike is a hero that endured a challenge dealt to him that no one could ever imagine.  He fought like a true champion!  Mike passed away at 12:47am on this date, in the arms of his beautiful wife, Tammy, at home with his girls by his side.  We will post information about his service as soon as details are finalized.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the support you have showered us with.

Hope Continues...

We have been in contact with City of Hope but Mike has suffered another set back from this disease which has caused a delay in determining if Mike would qualify for any further treatment.

We continue to feel and build on the strength from everyone's support and prayers. Words do not seem to be enough to express our sincere thanks and gratitude. We really would not be able to get through each day without each and every one of you! Thank you all so much!

Love,
Tammy, Carissa, Kaylie, Alyssa, Jen, Ryan, Abbey, Nancy, Greg, Diane, Megan, and all of our extended family

Update on Mike:
Mike’s recent MRI scans and documentation has been received by City of Hope and will be reviewed with their Tumor Board. We should hear something from them by Monday. Currently, due to Mike’s weakness from the seizure, the local doctors have decided that radiation is not an option for him at the moment. We continue to ask for your prayers that City of Hope will have an option that the others could not provide us with.
We want to say thank you again for the continued prayers and donations and to those groups that have included Mike in their prayers. We can't tell you enough how much that means to all of us, but especially to Mike. The prayers help all of us get through each and every day. The donations have helped tremendously with the cost of Mike’s home health care needs, which continue to grow.
Sending hugs to all!

Update with heartfelt thank you's

We are overwhelmed at the generosity from all. Words cannot explain what the thoughts, prayers, and support mean to our family and we are very grateful. We continue to read the emails and Mike smiles with each one he hears.
Mike is home and continues to strengthen each day. We are in the midst of what the next steps will bring, including contacting City of Hope for their opinion on his treatment options to ensure he gets the best treatment possible at this time.
We ask that you continue to say a prayer and send your positive thoughts and energy his way. As Jenny said, that is what keeps us going each day.

Contacting the Family

Due to Mike’s current condition, if you would like to contact Mike and the immediate family direct, we ask that you please do so through email only – mikefisherfamily@yahoo.com.  Visitors must be kept to a minimum and since Mike has trouble speaking, a phone call is very difficult.  We will read emails that are received to him.  If you would like to post a short message, please feel free to post directly on this blog.  The family will use this page to keep everyone updated.   We thank you for your prayers and support.  If nothing else, your positive energy and prayers for Mike are the actions that are helping us all get through this.
